Choosing a Prop Market: Keep Sensitivity Units and Account Identity
A market-selection worksheet should name the actual product before it compares price sensitivity. Matching an underlying name is insufficient when one instrument has a different multiplier or account treatment. Keep account identity visible throughout the exercise.

Define each exposure in its own specification
Record the instrument, account, quantity, multiplier and direction. Preserve the price unit and the size of the scenario move. A sensitivity expressed per index point cannot be added directly to one expressed per settlement coin without a defined model.
HashHedge’s challenge guide describes distinct market routes, and its terms govern allowed behaviour. A purchase for one market should not be assumed to grant another. This article does not propose coordinated or opposite accounts to evade evaluation conditions.
Work two separate fictional scenarios
Instrument A has supplied quantity 2 and multiplier 5 quote units per point. For a hypothetical one-point increase, its linear sensitivity is +10 quote units. Instrument B has quantity 3 and multiplier 2, giving +6 for its own one-point increase.
The two numbers can be displayed together but cannot establish a combined risk without defining whether the moves occur together, the account boundary and the valuation currency. Even a shared unit does not supply a correlation or maximum loss. Keep them as separate scenarios unless those assumptions are explicit.
| Input | Instrument A | Instrument B |
|---|---|---|
| Account identity | Keep A explicit | Keep B explicit |
| Quantity | 2 | 3 |
| Multiplier | 5 quote units/point | 2 quote units/point |
| Own one-point scenario | +10 quote units | +6 quote units; not a combined limit |
Compare the required product to the programme
This site’s earlier exposure resource remains the companion for unit discipline. For a Singapore journal, record the exact instant and account alongside each scenario instead of grouping rows solely by a local date or underlying label.
The optional sponsored HashHedge link concerns its current products. Availability, eligibility, actual instrument caps and method permission remain required checks. The worksheet sends no orders and makes no claim that separate positions can offset a provider’s account rule.
